OSCAR’S  STORY
There came a time when I was abducted by the fighters of lord resistance  army {LRA} and I saw the misery ,threats and the blood shed in the bush. That was in 2000 when I was 10 yrs old. From there I was trained on how to become army man and they told us that one time the door will be open for us and we will take over the government. From there I found many children being born in the bush, and some I found already born. Some of those kids were still having their parents, but some had already lost  their parent who had been killed while in the army. Most of them became soldiers because they had been born knowing only one life of fighting. They are called bush babies.

2004 June was a day for my memory when I managed to escape with some of these bush kids, from Sudan to Uganda, and there were four of them and the rest that I knew came back in 2008. They came in the camp looking for some one to take care of them. Then it was when World Food Program was still distributing food for the people, and I was like their parent.

I got for them a house in the camp where they lived, and they waited for food from world food program. We managed with that life for five years with them until 2009, when the people started going to their destinations and the world food program had stopped giving out food. Now came a problem because the kids had nowhere to live apart from the camp or church because they don’t have any homeland or village and all were total orphans who had nowhere to stay.

Almost all were going to school as the government constructed the school in their camp, but now that people left to their villages, the school in camp has been stopped. These kids have nowhere to go, and most of them dropped out of school because of many problems like no way to get scholastic materials, no writing books, no text books, no pencils or pens, and that is what contributed to their failure to go to school. Their prayers always were that God should open his eyes and see them, so that they can become someone in this world.

Now days, all the kids face a problem of feeding. They have no food to keep them, because it was World Food Program feeding everyone, and now these days there is nothing. These kids are starving. To make matters worse, there are the seven kids who are HIV positive whereby they need proper feeding, good medical care, and all the time they should be happy with no stress. I helped them to get some food although it is not enough for them. They cannot take the drugs unless they have balanced diet to take with it, so no-one is treated just because lack of food.
